Coach Aleks started playing chess at age of 6 and became team champion of Macedonia at age of 8. He has been teaching chess since 2009 in Phoenix, AZ, and in 2011, he started teaching chess online. He had taught the game of chess in over 20 schools, as an after school activity, to over 1000 students which have successfully learned this magnificent game.
His students have won the Best of Phoenix, the Governors Cup of Arizona, as well as many other tournaments. Having a BA degree in Teaching Philosophy, he has the patience and love for teaching, as well as the knowledge of the game, which makes him the perfect Coach for K-12 students.
He lives in Phoenix with his wife Aleksandra and their son Ivan and they are all enthusiastic Sun’s fans, as well as regulars at all local chess events. He holds a Chess Coach Certificate from the United States Chess.
On these private lessons, the student learns how to look at chess positions and what to look at. This is an important factor when playing chess because it is all about planning and creating a good strategy, which actually what students learn in these lessons.
There are also online practice sessions during which the student plays a chess game with me, the coach. On this way, I am able to constantly observe the way you child’s chess skills develop and help him/her when needed.
Additionally, every student is given homework between training sessions in order to see how the child works on his/her own.
I believe that every hard-working student can learn and master the chess game and that these private lessons bring him/her close to his/her success. That’s why I always encourage students to ask me anything they want to know or have something unclear about.
